PowSyBl Completes Latest Release Train, with New Modeling and Security Features

The LF Energy PowSyBl community has released powsybl-dependencies 2024.2.0, which concludes the last PowSyBl release train. PowSyBl is an open source library dedicated to electrical grid modeling and simulation.
All the repositories’ versions and release notes are included in the table below.

The most noteworthy new features are:
  • Modeling of generic areas in IIDM.
  • Added a dynamic security analysis API and its first implementation.
  • Added the possibility to get a network modification corresponding to an Action.
  • Added a new DynamicModelSupplier for a models mapping JSON input.
  • Improvements & simplifications of CRAC & RAO APIs.
  • Improvement of CSA-profiles support.
  • Improvements in the RAO algorithm.
The community also made a big step forward towards better functional documentation. PowSyBl documentation is now unified and versioned, and can be found at https://powsybl.readthedocs.io.
Finally, the PowSyBl community would like to highlight a new visualization tool for pypowsybl users: the network explorer, which is part of the interactive widgets of pypowsybl-jupyter. You can find a “getting started” notebook here.
