LF Energy Ambassadors are individuals who are passionate about building open technology solutions for the energy transition, recognized for their expertise, and willing to help others learn about these technologies and our community. Successful Ambassadors are people such as developers, maintainers, end users, influencers, and/or evangelists who are already engaged with an LF Energy project in some way including contributing to forums, online groups, community events, etc.

Robert de Leeuw

Robert de Leeuw is an experienced software developer and architect with over 10 years of experience in electric vehicle (EV) charging. His focus has been on the protocols used in the industry. For years he has been leading the development of OCPP, the de-facto standard for managing EV charging stations, and OCPI, the de-facto standard for exchanging roaming information. de Leeuw is an active contributor to the LF Energy EVerest project, which was originated by PIONIX.

Dr. Marco Möller

Marco Möller is an experienced entrepreneur and renewable energy activist. After selling their drone company to Intel, Möller and his team consulted in different industries and became convinced that the charging industry’s problems could be solved similarly as it happened in the drone industry: by a large-scale industrial open source approach. As a complex systems physicist, Marco believes that there are amazing ways in speeding up technology transitions which will be for the benefit of all: planet and people. He can bring in his experience and his valuable network in the open source world.

Solution Architect, Hydro-Québec

Dr. Kwate Kwate Rodrigues

Dr. Kwate Kwate Rodrigues is a Solution Architect at Hydro-Québec, a major player in the North American energy sector, where his contribution to the internal open source strategy was pivotal. This journey led to the creation of the Cross-Functional Open Source Committee and the establishment of the Open Source Office, showcasing Hydro-Québec’s commitment to cutting-edge technologies.
Rodrigues is deeply passionate about the energy transition, open source, and digital transformation. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Université Mohammed Premier Oujda, and recently completed the Leadership in Innovation course at MIT, honing his skills in driving innovative strategies. Beyond his professional roles, Rodrigues has been published in scientific journals, reflecting his dedication to advancing knowledge in the field of computer science.
Strategic Member Representative, Alliander

Jonas van den Bogaard

Jonas van den Bogaard is a Digital Strategy Lead at Alliander, a distribution system operator (DSO) in the Netherlands. Alliander provides reliable, affordable, and accessible energy transport and distribution to a large part of the Netherlands. Open source has proved to be an enabler of innovation and collaboration. It is Jonas’ responsibility to ensure open source & innersource initiatives contribute to Alliander’s digital strategy and objectives. Jonas takes a leading role in Alliander’s Open Source Program Office (OSPO). Also, he represents Alliander on LF Energy Technical Advisory Council.

Executive Vice President, Savoir-faire Linux

Christophe Villemer

Christophe Villemer is a French-Canadian binational engineer and entrepreneur passionate about creating value through collaboration. He has been involved in open source communities for 20 years, also acting as an evangelist for numerous open source projects. At Savoir-faire Linux, he manages strategic and technological partnerships to develop new market, particularly those related to the energy sector.
He is the main representative of the company to LF Energy where he plays a role of promotion and evangelist of the activities and projects. He represents Savoir-faire Linux on  the LF Energy Marketing Advisory Committee, and was a Program Committee Member of the Embedded Open Source Summit 2023 in Praha, for the LF Energy Track.
Villemer actively participates in the development and success of the SEAPATH project, in which Savoir-faire Linux is very involved.
Open Source Advisor, Shell

Sachin Bhakar

Sachin is responsible to design the Open Source & AI strategy for the CSDI at Shell. He dons two hats as he has a degree in law & engineering, he has previously held positions such as Open Source counsel, Lead Evangelist & IP Analyst with HPE, HERE Technologies & Honeywell respectively. On a personal front, Sachin is outdoorsy & loves participating in marathons!

We are currently recruiting additional Ambassadors. Ambassadors must commit to evangelizing LF Energy and its products to their communities. To remain active as an Ambassador, at minimum one activity per quarter must be performed, such as:

  • Speaking at an event
  • Presenting a webinar
  • Recording a tutorial or informational video
  • Contributing a blog post for LFEnergy.org
  • Being interviewed by the media
  • Drafting an article for placement with an industry media outlet
