PowSyBl Release Train Complete
PowSyBl has completed its latest release train, bringing together new versions across the repositories that work together within the platform. Together, these releases introduce updates spanning network modelling, load flow, sensitivity analysis, remedial action optimisation, ENTSO-E functionality, dynamic simulation, and diagrams.
The release of powsybl-dependencies 2026.1.0 concludes the train. The table below provides repository and release-note links for the full set of versions included in the announcement.
Across the release train, updates to network modelling and data handling include modelling of low loading limits and PQU diagrams for reactive limits, a limit reduction API, resistance on DC switches, improvements to the BIIDM format for file size and reading performance, and improvements to Power Factory DGS file import. The BIIDM format is now production ready. These changes are included in PowSyBl Core 7.3.0.
Load flow and sensitivity analysis updates in PowSyBl Open Load Flow 2.3.0 include AC/DC load flow support for networks with multiple AC islands; DC load flow network caching and active power updates for Load, LCC, VSC, and BoundaryLine; new variable types for branch R/X/admittance, shunt susceptance, and secondary voltage control pilot voltage; and preventive, generator, and load actions in DC mode.
Remedial action optimisation updates in PowSyBl OpenRAO 7.3.0 include a performance boost and multithreading for the MARMOT time-coupled module, the creation of a MarmotParameters extension, and report nodes in the ra-optimisation and pst-regulation modules.
Further updates include computation of the net position of a network area in powsybl-entsoe 3.3.0, open and close switch events in powsybl-dynawo 3.3.0, and manual positioning of substations in multi-substation diagrams in PowSyBl Diagram 5.5.0.
